Chess Club AG
sponsors a Chess Club each morning in Room 134 between the two morning
bells. Two days are designated for K-2 students and two days for 3-5
students. Teachers can send 4 to 6 students. Fridays are for students
with basic Chess knowledge. It's a great way to encourage high-level
thinking!
Jump Rope Club Jump
Rope club is open to all grade 4 and
5 students. The club meets Friday mornings in the MPR from 8:45 - 9:20.
Students may use school jump ropes or provide their own. Members of
the club work on individual and partner patterns, Double Dutch and triangle
skills. Students are welcome to come each day or whenever they desire.
Jump Rope for Heart February
in National Heart month and all grade 3 students will participate in
Jump Rope for Heart during Physical Education. Students and families may
choose to donate in the envelopes that are provided. Students will be
working on individual, partner, and pattern skills.
Junior Librarians
Open to 4th and 5th grade students by application. Junior
Librarians assist Media Center staff in checking materials in and
out, straightening library shelves, and learning the fundamentals of
library use.
Safety Patrol
Safety Patrol provides assistance in the carpool
lanes and the hallways for the safety of our students. Each year Grade
5 team captains and teams are chosen by students and recommended by
staff and teachers. Each team works for three weeks, at three separate
times of the year.
Student Team Leaders
A team of fourth and fifth grade students elected by their peers, Student
Team Leaders represent thier classes and the student body at large in
this classic form of student government. Student team leaders address
school and community issues, and have a proactive approach to leadership.
Technology/Video Club
The Morrisville Technology/Video Club is open
to 5th graders by application. The Technology/Video Club meets Tuesday
mornings from 8:30 - 9:05 AM. Students in the Technology/Video Club
will learn to use a variety of software programs, video editing, and
provide technology assistance in their classrooms.
Art Club
Art Club starts late September for all 5th graders. Every couple ofa new theme or medium will be introduced. There is no need to sign up.
Show up for the topics that most interest your creative side! Topics
will be posted outside the Art Room. Come join us every Tuesday morning
from 8:15 - 8:45.
