Letter from the President

Dear Morrisville Families,

Whether you are returning to Morrisville Elementary School (MES) or it is your first year I would like to welcome you on behalf of the PTA. We have already started working on a lot of exciting things and can’t wait to share them with you.

The PTA at MES is very active and we invite you to join us and become involved. Studies show that children do better in school when their parents are involved in their education. One way to get involved is to join the PTA and become an active member. Other benefits of joining and becoming active in the PTA include having a voice in making decisions about what the PTA does for our children as well as a large network of support and information regarding our school. We invite everyone to join our Award-Winning PTA and be a part of our great organization.

The PTA will be hosting two “Getting to Know MES and the PTA” Socials on July 18th and August 8th at 8:45am in the Media Center. We invite you to attend one of the events to learn about how the PTA helps the students at MES and how you can get involved.

I hope that you’ve already decided that you want to be a part of the PTA at Morrisville Elementary. As a member, you are permitted to vote at PTA Meetings and you will also receive a complimentary school directory. You will find in your paperwork a Membership Form. Just fill out the form and make checks for the dues payable to ‘Morrisville Elementary PTA’. The form and dues can be submitted at Open House, the Getting to Know you Social or they can be sent in through your child’s backpack.

If you would like to be included in the directory your room parent will be collecting the information. Once he/she contacts you please make sure you provide them with the information you would like included. All PTA Members will receive a complimentary copy of the Directory.

In closing, I’d like to ask you to be more than a member of the PTA. I’d like to challenge you to join at least one committee this year. If everyone chooses one committee we will have the volunteers we need to make all of the programs and events the PTA sponsors a huge success.
